I explained to my husband that I needed to get one for the sake of research. You know, so I could let you all know how they were. But then I saw I could get a better deal by buying three instead of one, and since shipping would be the same (fairly expensive) amount, we decided we might as well buy all three and give a couple away!*

To enter for a chance at your very own Hydrapak PureBot, just answer one of the following questions in the comments. (And if your email is not enabled or included somewhere on your profile or blog, please include that as well so I can let you know if you win!) Entries close next Wednesday. I will draw two winners at random.
- What do you think about the whole BPA issue? (It's fine if your answer is "I could care less!")
- What natural living topic interests you most? (For example: real food, natural body products, natural household cleaning products, etc.) Have you been motivated enough to look into it and make changes to your lifestyle based on it? Is there anything in particular that you'd be interested in reading a post about?
- What is your favorite resource related to natural living? (Blog, website, book, etc.)
Good luck!
*This company has no idea I'm doing this giveaway.

1. It's at least of some interest to me. We use metal water bottles for ourselves, mostly, and the baby's stuff is all BPA free (I think). I figure in another few years, a lot more plastics will be as well.
ReplyDelete2. mmm...real food definitely seems like a good way to go. But no, I haven't been brave enough to give up a lot of the junk that I love so much.
3. I don't really have a source? I read your blog, and City Wife, Country Life, and you ladies both talk about it a lot!
1. Now that we have a baby I've started being more concerned about him being exposed to BPA and since I'm breastfeeding me as well.
ReplyDelete2. Real Food- being a WAHM now definetly helps in this endeavor!
3. Blogs, linked websites, basically anything internet.
Thanks!

I gave some feedback on your BPA post, but to continue that, I checked the top of my pyrex yesterday and it says it's BPA free. phew. :) I try to do what I can to avoid BPA products without causing too much inconvenience for myself. I still buy canned stuff, but only if it's much cheaper than the glass containers or fresh stuff.
ReplyDeleteI will admit that I haven't thought a lot about it other than wanting to stay away from BPA for baby items, just because I do think babies are more susceptible to things. Although we also like to try and use glass storage containers for leftovers as well.
ReplyDeleteI'd say your posts have definitely got me thinking about it more though!
1) I try to steer clear of BPA when possible. We use metal water bottles/sippy cups, glass baby bottles, and glass food storage containers. At the same time though, I don't stress about it much.
ReplyDelete2) When my DH and I learned about NFP, that's when we became really interested in natural products. We're into the real food movement, natural body products for all of us and I make many of my own cleaning agents from natural/organic items. On the real food front, I've made lots of changes to our diets (we were pretty bad to begin with, so even though we've come a long way from where we were...we still have far to go). I now see a nutritionist to help keep me on track with eating right/better.
3) I don't have a favorite resource. I read lots of different blogs, books and articles. An interesting book I'm reading now is called Intuitive Eating. Very interesting for it's anti-diet stance to changing our food and eating habits.
1. It's of moderate interest. I sometimes wonder if all the BPA in plastic is related to the rise of infertility. I now buy BPA-free when possible.
ReplyDelete2. NFP, definitely. I cloth-diapered my first baby and loved it, but it got too difficult with coin-operated machines (we were in an apartment at the time).
I don't know if this counts, but my work has a Trader Joe's nearby, and that's gotten me more interested, too, as it's where I buy all my work lunches and snacks.
3. Anything about cooking more healthy and natural meals with limited time and on a budget, I guess. Healthy meals in the crockpot would be awesome.
How generous of you! I'll answer all three questions:
ReplyDelete1. I will admit that I don't know too much about the BPA issue, but Hubby and I do use stainless steel water bottles to avoid plastic.
2. I'm interested in a lot of areas of natural living, and one of my resolutions this year is to focus on more natural living from food to cleaning products, and even clothing. But I'm taking it one step at a time so it doesn't overwhelm us.
3. I have a lot of resources for natural living I use, but probably my main info source is my sister-in-law. She has a degree in environmental science and policy, and is working in an environmental field, so she always has links and articles on hand to send me when I need more information!
1. I haven't really looked into the BPA issue, because as far as I can tell, everything under the sun seems to give people cancer or other health problems. I think excessive plastic use is an all-around bad idea, and I'm trying to cut down on it over here!
ReplyDelete2. Besides reducing overall plastic usage, I'm also into natural homemade beauty products. I use the oil cleansing method for a face wash, and I've tried a LOT of stuff for hair-- the No-Poo method, homemade conditioner, homemade hair gel, and natural shampoo soap bars (if you are ever looking for a guest post of some kind, I have TONS to say about that...)
3. That Reader's Digest "Homemade" book has a lot of great recipes for homemade hair products. Otherwise, I'm usually on the hunt for specific information, so I just turn to Google in most cases.
Thanks for the giveaway! Glad to see it's Miriam-approved! :-D
I gave a few thoughts on the post the other day.. My favorite resource, or should I say the person who has inspired me the most is my FIRL and author of www.ourlittleapartment.com She practices what she preaches without preaching too much!
ReplyDeleteCute water bottles!
I like the book "Last Child in the Woods" which isn't natural living so much as how humans need nature for proper development.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you're read or heard of the book, but it is a great read.
1. I think BPA is something to be concerned about. I think that there is just too much plastic in general, and I try to cut down on my use of it. That being said, I just went back to plastic (BPA-free) bottles. After my son dropped his and cut his foot and the glass was so imbedded that he had to have complete anethesia to get it out, I figured the plastic was the lesser of two evils.
ReplyDelete2. I am interested in a variety of natural living comments, no one sticks out to me more than others.
3. Favorite resource would be the example of my grandmother. I also look at a variety of blogs, books, magazines, and just conversations with other people to get ideas.
1) bpa is a problem, i definitely stay away from it!
ReplyDelete2) i would say everything! i try to get as much natural/organic food as possible, and am sensitive to chemicals so only use green products to clean, etc.
3) hmm, i dont much read about it anymore. i would say the book "our stolen future" which i read over 10 years ago about how plastics, etc impact fertility was a great resource.
thanks for hosting this giveaway!!
I'm not very well educated about the BPA thing.
ReplyDeleteBut, as for real food, I have made many changes from year to year and I think we eat much better than when we first got married. The documentaries "Food, Inc" and "Future of Food" were enlightening and inspiring. A great book for solving health problems using good nutrition is "The Diet Cure" by Julia Ross. I use it frequently as a reference for which foods are healthiest. We have recently been getting a "refresher" course in the Creighton method NFP and it has been SO helpful since our first class was pre-wedding 12 years ago. Taking a fresh look at NFP has helped me identify and reduce some areas of stress in my life that were causing my health to deteriorate.
Thanks for the give away! Hope I win!

1. I try to avoid BPA... I was making a comment on your post about it when my computer blue-screened on me and I didn't want to retype it all... it was getting late! I did hear that Tupperware has always been BPA-free, but I would verify that to know for sure.
ReplyDelete2. The topics that interest me most are breastfeeding and NFP.
3. I can tell you what my lest favorite source was: Mothering magazine. I loved so many articles in there, but then there would be something that screamed "we're a liberal anti-religion, anti-capitalism, "progressive" publication!!" Like including reviews for books about "I have two Mommies" of that kind of thing. So, I guess I like CCL's magazine about NFP and most of the stuff put out by LLL regarding breastfeeding.
