We've finally figured out our living arrangements for the next year! Despite my father-in-law's generous offer, we've decided not to purchase his house, even though we're already living in it. While it might be good financially, it doesn't make sense with our long-term plans. 2
We'll also be moving out of here. We moved in last August to help out my FIL, and our work here is done. It's time for all of us to move into the next phase of our lives, and do so in our own space. The lease on our new apartment starts April 1st!3
I am ridiculously excited about setting up our new place. My husband said we might be able to buy a new bed and/or dining room table, and I cannot wait to go to all the furniture stores and antique shops! We've never really had a chance to decorate our own space and define our own style, and even he is looking forward to it. I imagine he won't be so excited after the first couple stores and sticker shock, though.I just reread that paragraph and it's clear that I've been watching too much HGTV. "Define our own style"? Really?

I'm sorry these quick takes are quite boring so far. All I've done for the past two weeks is apartment hunt: scour classifieds, check Craig's List six times a day, drive around for hours, make phone calls, check out places, and go home and check Craig's List again. We'll be really happy to sign the lease tomorrow.5
Earlier this week I found a bag of onions in the pantry. I didn't know how old they were and threw them out. Naturally, the next day I ended up cooking something that called for an onion. I dug to the very bottom of the trash can and pulled out the onions. I did not tell my husband. 6

I hope you all have a joyful Palm Sunday!

Ahah!! great posts!! :) I hope you enjoy your new house and find your own style, Idon't think it's silly, it feels so good to have a place you are comfortable in, you actually want to get home and do stuff, not just get home and quickly go back out or turn the tv on to escape the mess...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy decorating and post up some pictures! :)
Congrats on finding a new place. I'm glad you'll get a chance to "define your style"
ReplyDeleteIn a completely unrelated note, I did get the picture fixed on my post if you wanted to see it - the baby fox is so cute!
umm, just FYI, you can NEVER watch too much HGTV.
ReplyDeleteNEVER
:-p
can't wait to see pics of the new place all decorated!
Not boring at all! I have a pretty good idea of how excited you must be and I am looking forward to posts on how you make the place your own.
ReplyDeleteI say that if you washed the onion and cooked it then there is no reason to care that it was in the trash. If not, I have nothing to say. ;-)
Congrats on the new space!! You should enter one of the contests on HGTV and see if they will come do it for you!!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, never too much HGTV!
Congrats on your own apartment! My mom is obessed with HGTV... everytime I come home she's watching it. Come to think of it my mother-in-law also is in love with HGTV... perhaps I'm missing out?!

ReplyDeleteThe onion story made me snort :D
(Sorry it says I deleted a comment! I saw a typo and just could not abide it :)
Totally cracked up at the onion part. I have definitely done that before.
ReplyDeleteHappy Palm Sunday!
I have definitely used an onion from the trash. And some garlic. Only once. :)
